Virtual Tours

Here are some of the classroom elements you can expect when you come and tour Seedsowers Montessori Preschool in Temecula.

Sensorial, Math,  BIBLE, and Language Room

Sensorial means sense or senses. In the Montessori classroom Sensorial work allows the child to concentrate on the refinement of all his senses. Montessori Math materials build sequentially on previous learning and introduce concrete learning before abstract learning and they all contain a control of error.  Bible is incorporated at Seedsowers Montessori through hands-on materials allowing the child to learn Biblical concepts and stories through repetition.  To help the child in his development in language, the Montessori classroom is designed with special materials to help the child develop the powers of communication and expression, of organization and classification, and the development of thought.

Practical Life, Science, and Art Room

Practical Life Exercises are meant to resemble everyday activities such as the activities children are naturally interested in activities.  Dr. Montessori began using what she called “Practical Life” exercises to help the child gain control in the coordination of his movements and to help the child to develop independence.  In the Montessori classroom, the child is introduced to the basics of Physical Science.  A few of the activities might include Sink or Float, and Magnetic Experimentation  Simple Machines.  In a  Montessori class, the media is formally presented to the child,  and he is allowed to express as he wished with the media, as a true creative outlet for the child.

Outdoor Environment

Recess and outdoor activities are opportunities for Montessori students to practice lessons from everyday life on the playground and outdoor classroom.    The Outdoor Environment is an extension of Practical Life and includes lessons such as grace and courtesy.  Important principles are introduced through many activities in the Montessori classroom and fostered again on the Montessori playground.  When playing together, children are able to practice friendship, compassion, cooperation, and kindness.
